An MOU is not legally binding. So if needed it is easier to wash hands off the MOU.

My Comments : 

So in the future if things do not work out the parties to an MOU can simply say 'An MOU is not legally binding."

They can wash their hands and walk away. 

An MOU is not a binding CONTRACT.

So this means under an MOU you cannot force someone to do this or to do that. It is not legal to insist that someone must do this or must not do that under an MOU. Because the MOU is not legally binding.

How convenient.
