'Arrogant and immature', Zuraida claps back at PBM chief

Former minister Zuraida Kamaruddin fired a salvo against Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) president Larry Sng, calling him immature and arrogant.

She said this in response to Sng’s statement regarding Zuraida and her allies’ fate in the party, adding the former should discuss the matter first before taking any action or making decisions involving the party.

"To determine the direction of this affray, I have discussed the matter with a large number of PBM members and found that the majority of the grassroots do not agree with the actions taken by Sng in managing the party.

"His shallow actions of revealing the party's secret matters on social media regularly, coupled with the back-and-forth statements have apparently damaged PBM’s image and also annoyed party members," Zuraida said.

Zuraida then gave several examples, alleging Sng of threatening other leaders by using his position to sign documents before the 15th general election (GE15).

"Unfortunately, this happened after my team and I built PBM from the scratch. The party was established with the support of members of the National Community Mobilisation,” the former Ampang MP added.

Going against party wishes

The initial arrangement, Zuraida mentioned, was for the party leadership post to be handed over to her soon after she announced her entry into PBM.

"This was also approved through a motion in the party's annual general meeting at a national level.

“But after GE15, Sng seems to have broken his promise and chose to act shamelessly against the wishes of the majority of PBM members and abused his position to remain in power," she stated.

However, Zuraida stressed that she will continue doing her welfare and social activities in her existing capacity.

Yesterday, Sng said Zuraida and some politicians loyal to her will be counting their days in PBM, giving them until tomorrow to respond to the show-cause letter issued earlier this week.

According to Sng, failure to do so will result in Zuraida and a number of other party members - whose memberships are now suspended - being sacked immediately. - Mkini
