COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 1,597 new Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 5,008,452.
Active infections stood at 20,468, down 24.2 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Another six deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which one was declared as "brought in dead".
Over the past week, an average of 6.3 people were reported to have died of the disease, while the average for the past 30 days was 7.4, indicating that such deaths are on the downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,748 deaths have been attributed to the coronavirus.
Four of the latest fatalities were reported in Selangor, followed by Johor and Perlis with one each.
There are 1,237 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 86 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (81) followed by Sabah (60) and Perak (43). - Mkini
