Ok this is getting weirder. First here is Takiyuddin :
They wanted a vote of confidence. So they had a vote of confidence. But they did not count the votes. They did not do a simple kira kepala.
On a matter that is this serious they should have just kept to the usual voting system in Parliament. Though on a vote of confidence it is much better to do a secret ballot. What is so difficult? There are only 222 MPs in Parliament.
But none of that happened. They did not have a real vote tallying or a real head count at all. They went by a voice vote. So now no one will ever know what exactly is the number who voted for or against. We will never know.
Why did they NOT undertake a proper headcount? There are obvious reasons.
Not everyone on their side would have voted in favour of the motion. What if (this is just an if ok) my old friend Hishamuddin Hussein Onn had voted against the motion. Say Hishamuddin plus about five or six of his UMNO buddies had voted against the motion. Then what happens?
First of all it makes a nonsense of that MOU. Which is nonsensical anyway.
Secondly it really pushes them against the wall over that equally stupid anti-hopping law. What if some of their own MPs had voted against the motion ? How would the anti-hopping law deal with that?
Will they have to be kicked out of their parties and face By Elections? The Perikatan Nasional is waiting for By Elections. The PN will likely win By Elections hands down.
Or if they do not kick out recalcitrant party MPs how does that affect the anti-hopping law? Does it not make a nonsense of the anti-hopping law?
So what is the bottom line? The bottom line is that they never intended to do a real, proper headcount. It was a waste of the Parliamentary process. It was just a syiok sendiri thing.
No actual headcount was undertaken today. You will never know if there is a majority. Or if there is a majority what is the actual headcount? You will never know.
All of you "supporters" who have been waiting for a simple headcount to settle this issue once and for all are still in the dark.
So what will they tell the Tuanku?
a. the support was quite loudb. I . . ttthink I have the majority
c. but I dont know exactly how many
Back to square none.
