KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Services Department (PSD) director-general, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafiq Abdullah is said to have been sacked.
Images if an alleged official letter, signed by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, on the PSD chief's sacking has gone viral.
The letter stated that the alleged termination was undertaken in accordance with the Regulation 49(3) of the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) 1993 and to be retired by virtue of Section 10(5)(d) of the Pension Act 1993.
The alleged sacking comes barely 10 months after Shafiq was appointed as the PSD director-general on Feb 10 this year.
Shafiq had been involved in controversy in August after an immigration officer complained that Shafiq had berated him in public. A high-level committee was later formed to carry out investigations.
However, it is not known if the action against him was related to the incident. An official complaint was lodged by the immigration department which led to an investigation ordered by the chief secretary to the government.
More to come
