PETALING JAYA: DAP’s M Kulasegaran has called on Malaysians to continue to support Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s unity government, following the recent Cabinet announcement.
The Ipoh Barat MP acknowledged the concerns and queries from many people on why he was excluded from Anwar’s Cabinet.
“I urge them to look at the big picture. This is the Cabinet we need at the moment. It is the Cabinet that has the support of all Pakatan Harapan (PH) component parties,” he said in a statement.
He also called for Malaysians to support his party colleague, Batu Gajah MP V Sivakumar, who was appointed human resources minister.
Kulasegaran held the same portfolio under the former PH government from May 2018 to February 2020.
“Sivakumar has vast political experience and the capability to drive the ministry forward. If required, our entire team and I are always there to lend him a helping hand,” he said.
“We are on the right track again,” he added.
Anwar named a 28-member Cabinet for his unity government.
The Cabinet comprises members from Pakatan Harapan (15) through PKR, DAP, Amanah and Upko; Barisan Nasional (6) through Umno; Gabungan Parti Sarawak (5) through PBB, PRS and PDP; and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (1) through Sabah Bersatu.
