Ministry expanding MySejahtera use to resolve overcrowding at hospitals

Health minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa says appointments for outpatient treatment and other visits in 2023 may be made on the MySejahtera app starting today.

PETALING JAYA: The health ministry will be expanding the use of the MySejahtera application for appointments at government hospitals and clinics to prevent overcrowding and long wait times.

Its minister, Dr Zaliha Mustafa, said appointments may be made through MySejahtera for 673 healthcare clinics, and this will gradually be expanded to more hospitals and clinics.

“This will allow healthcare facilities to organise their schedules based on their respective capacity and avoid overcrowding at the registration and waiting areas,” she said in a statement today.

Zaliha said appointments may be made for outpatient treatment, visits under the National Health Screening Initiative (NHSI) and the healthcare scheme for the B40 group (PeKa B40) and others.

She said appointment dates for 2023 for these services may be set through MySejahtera beginning today, adding that they can be cancelled or changed through the app.

Cases that require emergency treatment will not need to be booked through MySejahtera beforehand, she said.

On Monday, Zaliha had said the health ministry had begun drawing up plans to resolve the issue of overcrowding at emergency and trauma departments to improve services to the people. - FMT
