KUALA LUMPUR: The number of flood evacuees in Kelantan and Pahang has risen while the figure for Terengganu has dropped.
In Kelantan, there were 1,929 evacuees from 601 families in Pasir Mas who were housed in seven relief centres in the district.
In Pahang, Pekan became the latest district to be affected. A relief centre was opened in Sungai Miang to house 46 more evacuees from 10 families, bringing the state total to 444 people. Other districts affected include Temerloh and Bera.
In Terengganu, the number of evacuees dropped to 196 people from 52 families tonight. Kuala Terengganu district had the highest number of evacuees, with 83 people being sheltered at two centres. Other affected districts are Kuala Nerus, Dungun, Kemaman and Besut. - FMT
