SEREMBAN: The survey and visual inspection carried out by the Public Works Department found that the landslide area in Kuala Pilah involves the route FT 1275 Section 2.7 Jalan Felda Kepis, stretching 30m-long with an estimated depth of 10m of rubble.
Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the route was completely closed at the junction from Juasseh, Senaling and the junction to Perkampungan Felda Kepis.
"Survey works and site investigations will be carried out soon, while the design work and instructions to the contractor will be issued by the end of this year at the latest," he said in a Facebook post.
Nanta and the relevant agencies conducted a survey in the area as well as several other locations affected by the landslide Sunday morning (Dec 18).
He said construction works which will begin in early January 2023 are expected to be completed in June 2023.
The construction of a detour route using gravel pavement in Felda Kepis will start tomorrow (Dec 19) as an alternative road for nearby residents to use.
"All officials involved were reminded to help speed up road repair efforts for the sake of the people,” he added. - Bernama
