Transport Minister Anthony Loke has instructed low-cost airline Malindo Air to reach out to all passengers reportedly stranded at KLIA on Friday night after their flight to Kuching was delayed for over eight hours.
Taking to Twitter, Loke responded to a disgruntled passenger who recorded a video of his complaints against Malindo.
"I have contacted the management of @malindoair...they will be contacting all affected passengers to apologise and take responsibility," said Loke last night.
On Friday, marketer Mohd Firdaus Jailan tweeted that his initial flight to Kuching was scheduled to depart at 11pm but passengers were left stranded at the gate until 6am Saturday, supposedly with no announcement or assistance from the airline's staff.
Among others, Firdaus said any prior notice of the overnight delay would allow him to leave the airport and check in to a hotel room.
He said there were also senior citizens left stranded and clueless with no clear information.
Others who responded to Firdaus pointed out that all of the passengers are entitled to claim compensation from Malindo for their inconvenience. - Mkini
