PETALING JAYA: Arau MP Shahidan Kassim claims there are plans to topple the unity government headed by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and to put Perikatan Nasional (PN) in power.
According to a Malaysiakini report, Shahidan hinted that Anwar’s Cabinet would not last long and that PN was receiving good support from the ground.
“We’re currently working towards ensuring that the Cabinet will not last long. InshaAllah, we will return to power as per the people’s mandate,” he told reporters after PN’s ceramah in Padang Serai.
Shahidan also said that the Cabinet line-up announced recently saw “losers” being appointed as ministers because Pakatan Harapan (PH) had no industry experts.
“There are many powerful parliamentarians from Umno and DAP, but they were not appointed to helm important ministries. Maybe because he (Anwar) thinks that they are not bright enough, or have no expertise,” he said.
Yesterday, Muhyiddin slammed Anwar’s new Cabinet line-up, describing it as the “most disappointing in the nation’s history”.
Muhyiddin said that by appointing kleptocrats into the Cabinet, Anwar had sacrificed the principles of good governance which he promoted during the general election (GE15) campaign.
Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi lashed out at Muhyiddin over the statement. Zahid said Muhyiddin and his allies should learn to be a formidable opposition instead of complaining. - FMT
