Wedding reception steals the limelight for unconventional decoration—snakes

 

IT IS never nice to turn up for a party uninvited, more so, if the guest happens to have certain qualities that bring discomfort to others.

And that was exactly what happened in a recent wedding reception where guests were horrified to find several snakes coiled high above the ceiling of a restaurant.

From the size of it, the snakes appear to be constrictors so they shouldn’t be much of a problem. It is the small ones that we need to worry about.

Regardless, most people won’t find the dining experience a pleasant one knowing that there are snakes above their heads, ready to come down and strike without a moment’s notice.

The video has since gone viral on TikTok, receiving over 339 comments and over 25,000 likes.

Netizen namibruhh said in the comment section that the guests will run away screaming if the snakes fell down.

“Why didn’t they call the fire fighters?” said a concerned mairaaa.

But is this the whole story? A closer look and guests will be relieved to find that the snakes are being secured to the ceiling with wires. It appears the snakes were fakes. 

Guests who attend wedding receptions can expect balloons, confetti and ribbons among many other decorations.

But snakes? What went through the mind of the restaurant owner when he decided it was a good idea to fasten snakes to their ceiling?

A netizen conjectured that the snakes were meant to scare off the monkeys from congregating at the scaffolding.

Scanning through the comment section, readers will come across the owner of the venue, Dewan Seri Mutiara, explaining that the fake snakes were used to frighten off the birds.
