German tourist dies while hiking in Cameron Highlands

 A fire and rescue department spokesman says a rescue team found the man unconscious in a pothole believed to be from a former waterway.

KUANTAN:

A 58-year-old German tourist died after falling into a pothole while hiking in Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands, today.

A fire and rescue department spokesman said a rescue team found the man unconscious in a hole believed to be from a former waterway. He was later pronounced dead.

The team reached the scene after hiking for about seven kilometres, he said. The hiker’s 57-year-old woman partner was reported to be safe. - FMT
