PAS leaders turn up for Umno general assembly

KUALA LUMPUR:

PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad, secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan and information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari attended the Umno general assembly here this morning.

The three PAS leaders were welcomed on stage by Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

Syahir Sulaiman, the Bachok MP and political secretary to PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, was also seen at the assembly.

Their attendance comes a week after Umno leaders, led by Asyraf, showed up at the Islamic party’s muktamar in Kelantan.

It also follows the alliance between the two parties at the Negeri Sembilan polls.

On Sept 1, Takiyuddin confirmed that he, Hadi and two other leaders had been invited to Umno’s general assembly. - FMT
