KUALA LUMPUR: Four incidents were reported after flash floods hit Ampang, Taman U-Thant and Jalan Ampang here on Sunday (Sept 20).
The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department operations centre said it received several distress calls regarding the flash flooding and mobilised teams from the Keramat, Jalan Tun Razak and Titiwangsa fire stations to affected locations for rescue and monitoring actions.
"The first incident was reported near Tuscany Home Furnitures along Jalan Mengkudu, Ampang, involving a stranded vehicle in 0.9m deep waters. Firefighters managed to rescue the victim in the vehicle.
"The second incident occurred near Kondominium Desa Angkasa, Taman U-Thant, involving a BMW stranded in floodwaters. Firefighters rescued two victims from the car," the centre said in a statement on Sunday.
The third incident involved a flooded residential home where residents reported a risk of electrocution in the area, while the fourth incident involved a flooded vehicle along Menara Safuan, Jalan Ampang that turned out to be unoccupied. - Bernama
