Police probe fight at Labu KTM station

NILAI: Police are investigating a fight believed to have involved a staff member at the Labu KTM Komuter station and a passenger, following a viral video of the incident.

District police chief Superintendent Johari Yahya said police were also investigating the cause of the altercation and verifying when it actually occurred.

He said police detected the one-minute-36-second video, which showed two men involved in a fight at the station, circulating on TikTok around 3.45pm yesterday.

"Following this, a police report was lodged by the Labu police station chief at 4.26pm yesterday, and the case is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code," he said in a statement.

Johari said investigations were ongoing to establish the cause of the fight, verify the actual date and time of the incident and determine the involvement of both individuals.

He advised the public against speculating or spreading unverified information, as this could interfere with investigations and cause public concern.

Those with information can contact the Nilai district police headquarters operations room at 06-790 4222 or any nearby police station.

According to the viral video, an elderly man had asked a staff member about a train delay but was allegedly given an unsatisfactory response.

A male passenger then confronted the staff member, resulting in the altercation.

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) said it would also investigate the incident. - NST
