Tremors from Batu Pahat quake felt in four states, KL and Putrajaya

KUALA LUMPUR: Tremors from a weak magnitude 4.4 earthquake that struck the waters off Batu Pahat, Johor, at 4.55pm today were felt across four states, as well as Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur.

In a Facebook statement, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the tremors were reported in several areas across Johor, Melaka, Negri Sembilan and Selangor, as well as surrounding areas.

Earlier, MetMalaysia said the epicentre was located at coordinates 1.7 degrees North and 102.7 degrees East, at a depth of 10km, about 27km southwest of Batu Pahat.
