French authorities, believed to be police and/or prosecutors, interviewed Bala for more than six hours yesterday, according to Tian Chua who has been following developments.
The interview began at 2.00pm French time (8.00pm Malaysian time) and extended past 5.00pm, well after normal working hours in France, he said. It is not immediately known when the session ended.
Bala and his lawyer are today expected to call upon a renowned human rights lawyer in France, William Bourdon, at 10.00am. Bourdon is a former Secretary General of the International Federation of Human Rights and lawyer for Transparency International.
