Chegu Bard or Badrul Hisham Shaharin is a PKR supreme council member and a rights activist known for his tireless work and fiery ceramahs. He was arrested on Friday night and released on bail a few hours later.
According to the Star, he was detained "for allegedly posting a seditious remark on his blog regarding the Yang DiPertuan Agong and the royal institution."
However, others believe he was taken in over his latest postings on the Najib-Altantuya saga. On July 8, it was a mock-up billboard of the Singapore Diamond Showcase, where Najib had allegedly introduced Altantuya to Razak Baginda and also told Baginda that he had a sexual relationship with her. Chegu Bard also questioned if Najib had given up Malaysia's Tanjung Pagar railway land to Singapore because they had photos of Altantuya with Najib at the diamond show. Read Najib diugut untuk terima keputusan rundingan yang merugikan?
On June 10, he also posted this Warkah terbuka kepada DYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di Pertuan Agong : 'hepi besday, sir! Daulat Tuanku!
