Musa Aman denies probems in Sabah BN

Musa Aman - no problems from the beginning
KOTA KINABALU(Bernama)- Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said Saturday Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties in the state discussed all problems and resolved them in the spirit of the coalition.

"We have had no problems from the beginning in the Sabah BN. We are united, cooperate with, understand and have mutual respect for one another," the Sabah BN chairman said when met at the Aidilfitri open house of the Kota Kinabalu Umno Division, here.

"Certain people may have a different opinion, but for us the party struggle is more important than individuals. As such, we are prepared to discuss (all issues), there is no problem," he said.

Musa was asked to comment on the call by Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) president Datuk Liew Vui Keong yesterday for all BN component parties to discard differences and cooperate to win the people's support to ensure victory in the next general election.

Liew made the call in response to the advice by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to uphold the BN principle of cooperation and mutual respect when handling issues with fellow BN parties.

LDP deputy president Datuk Chin Su Phin had said recently that the party could not work with Musa but would continue to cooperate with Umno and remain loyal to the BN.

Following the statement, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Peter Pang En Yin announced his resignation as an LDP vice-president and offered to quit his government posts.

Musa has retained him as a deputy chief minister until the matter was discussed with fellow BN component parties.

Asked whether he had set a deadline for Pang to join another BN party, Musa said he had not.

Meanwhile, Sabah BN secretary Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said every component party was given enough time to express their views at the state BN meeting but time constraint, at times, prevented the discussion of all issues.

"You must understand that there is an open communication between the Sabah BN chairman (Musa) and the rest of the component parties all the time. So, it's not just within BN meetings (that they can talk)," he said.

Chin had claimed, among other things, that the LDP could not work with Musa because it was disappointed over the conduct of the Aug 24 meeting of the Sabah BN where component party leaders were allegedly not given much room for discussion.
