Muhyiddin and Chua Soi Lek - Stop being childish!

MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek has said he will continue to criticise PAS' candidate Normal Sudirman’s refusal to shake hands with men and her party’s Islamic state agenda despite being ordered to stop, by the Deputy Prime minister and BN polls commander-in-chief Muhyiddin Yassin.

So, is this part of the bigger BN plan in which the DPM shows magnanimity and solidarity with Normala, despite her being in the opposing camp?

No. The DPM is just trying to mitigate the damage done by the failure of his plans, to remove the PAS candidate from the Tenang by-election.

First, they tried to transfer Normala’s husband. This was to destabilise her so that she would follow her husband to Johore Baru, as a good muslim wife, and quit her political shenanigans.

But the couple put their feet down and with the unprecedented public opprobrium, the Education department had to rescind the transfer order.

Second. They tried to distract her with the case of the ‘wardrobe malfunction’ in which CSL admonished Normala for wearing gloves when greeting the public. This ploy was to alienate the Chinese voters and thus dissuade them from voting for PAS in the Tenang by-election.

Initially, no-one in BN or Perkasa showed any sympathy for Normala when she was admonished for wearing gloves, by CSL.

Then MCA’s Ng Yen Yen and Gerakan’s Tan Lian Hoe lent their support to CSL and they too admonished Normala.

This second plan did not succeed and there was even more public disapproval of the BN methods.

When Najib’s two stooges, Perkasa and the Perak mufti were ordered to jump into the fray and admonish CSL, the “muslim solidarity” had come too late and smacked of insincerity and cynicism.

If the concern had been genuine, they would have come to Normala’s defence as soon as her adherence to the religion and adat were questioned by CSL.

None of the BN party machinery gives two figs for Normala. They are just trying to control the damage done by cynical plans that have backfired and left egg on Najib’s face. - Malaysia Chronicle
