Thereafter, the users of the expressway will be charged RM2 at each of the three tolls along the 33km stretch.
“I have asked them to extend it for the benefit of motorists especially since Ramadhan is around the corner,” Works Minister Datuk Shaziman Mansor was quoted by The Star Online today.
Shaziman added the request meant the concessionaire was going beyond the usual month-long trial during which no toll is collected.
The new expressway is expected to slash travel time between Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Selangor to just half an hour, or approximately a third the time it will take on existing roads.
Latar also links to the North South Expressway (Plus) and the Guthrie Corridor, with plans to add a future connection to the West Coast Highway once that is completed.
