Meeting point: Anwar as PM?

1. When it comes to politics, there is a divergent view between me and my wife. She is a staunch UMNO supporter where her trust on them is based on gratitude. My attempt to get her to do critical thinking of the political and economic situation of the country has not brought much success. She strongly believes that Anwar is unfit to be the PM because of his alleged sexual misconduct.
   

2. Is the election about making Anwar the PM? Heck no. I did not vote him to be the PM. Personally he promised me with a handshake that he will helped the abandoned house buyers in UK Bistari. Unfortunately he did not do anything to that effect. Therefore he does not deserve my vote if he were to contest in BA. Lucky for him that he will contest in Permatang Pauh. How do we go about explaining to the people that there is no guarantee that Anwar will not be PM? As it turns out there are many people out there that want a change of government but do not find Anwar fit to be the PM.
   

3. The Malaysian PM is indirectly elected head of Malaysia. He is officially appointed by the DYMM Agong who in his judgment is likely to command the confidence of the majority of the members of that “Dewan Rakyat”. When the time comes, I strongly believe, the parliamentarian will be split on who is to be the PM. In Anwar is nominated, there is a strong possibility that BN will nominate Hadi Awang or some other candidates with equal caliber. The votes from BN and a few from PR will ensure Anwar will not be the PM.
   

4. I keep explaining to my wife but she does not believe me. She insisted that Anwar will be PM and that is her main contention of not supporting PR. I failed to convince her. Personally, I think when the time comes, as in the case of Perak, the DYMM will ask for 3 names for him to choose. If Hadi and Anwar are in the list, Hadi Awang will be PM. By the way, did anyone knows that Hadi Awang used to be the King religious teacher when he was a young boy?
   

5. I think it is important that we explain the people why we went to vote during election. It is not about electing Najib or Anwar? The people don’t make that decision directly. There is a need to educate the ignorant systematically.
