Opposition leaders to defy KL ban

Anwar Ibrahim says Pakatan Rakyat leaders will be attending the Bersih 2.0 rally at Stadium Merdeka, this despite the police ban on 91 individuals.

NONEIn response to a tweet asking if they were coming to the capital city Kuala Lumpur for the event, the opposition leader (left) had replied, “Pakatan Rakyat leaders will attend”.

Yesterday the police had issued a list of people who were to be banned from entering the city, including Pakatan Rakyat leaders such as Anwar Ibrahim, PAS spiritual adviser Nik Aziz Nik Mat and deputy-president Mohamad Sabu and DAP parliamentarian Lim Kit Siang.

Around noon, Anwar's daughter and Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar also reported that she had also been served a restriction order.

“Three policemen are at the house serving a restriction order. KL is now 'Kuala Curfew',” she said in a tweet.

NONEMeanwhile PAS vice president Mahfuz Omar (right) has refused to sign the restriction order that the police has served on him, as it is absurd that he cannot even go to work at the PAS headquarters in Jalan Raja Laut.

“I didn't sign as it is absurd, in fact I refuse to accept the restriction," Harakahdaily today reported him saying.

“I don't mind if I am disallowed to go any other places, but to my office?” quipped the Pokok Sena MP, adding the cops later simply dropped the restriction order into his post box.
