WHY SHOULD I GET OUT OF UMNO?

By: Musli Oil

PARTY UMNO is my first party is a member in 1994. Although I have held positions as Head of Branch Youth USNO Kg Petagas, I was never an official member of the party.

I was in Edinburgh, Scotland for 5 years and go back to Sabah in September 1994. Put Chief Kota Belud at the time was Datuk Seri Salleh Said.He is also Finance Minister cum Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah Sabah. Once met, he invited me to join UMNO.

At the same time, my biological brother Oli Jamlidi Hj is head of PBS. He is expected to be against Salleh Said in Kota Belud Parliament or Legislative Assembly if the general election held Usukan because PBS is the opposition party at that time.

PBS leadership of Tan Sri Pairin is back, whilst the BN in 2001 after losing the PR state in 1999.

Although my brother, a senior leader PBS, I chose because I know UMNO UMNO. I have been studying and teaching history. I know what Onn Jaafar, Tunku Rahman, Tun Razak, Tun Hussien. I know the history of the Union.

I am confident that based on the history of UMNO's struggle is the best party for me and the people of Sabah!

I am also confident that UMNO can continue with the agenda championed the people of Sabah through the PBS without confrontation with the federal government. Struggle to restore Article 20, Borneonisasi, autonomy, problems and more issues PTI states, it appears I think more easily addressed if the lead UMNO because UMNO leadership relationship with the leadership of the country's highest state.

There was high expectations of me to UMNO!

After over 1995 general election, 1999, 2004, 2008 and after nine people changed since KM Sabah UMNO into Sabah. Starting with the Tun Sakaran Dandai, Datuk Salleh Said KERUAK, Datuk Yong Teck Lee, Tan Sri Dompok, Datuk Osu Sukam, Tan Sri Chong Kah Kiat and Datuk Musa Aman. Issues such as royalties, item 20, PTI and Borneonisasi still did not get serious attention.

Sabah Umno leadership and the Centre for development of the song continues. While that State continues to wallow in a variety of social and economic problems. The poverty rate is still at high level. The unemployment rate remained at the top of national statistics.

If there are 100 youths from Sabah who is qualified to find jobs on the peninsula of land, where are they working? Opportunity is only able to work as GROs, massage therapist in Bukit Bintang or factory work in Sungai Way. Conversely, if there is 100 youths from the states of the peninsula to Sabah, they will become the heads of federal departments, senior officials and contractors to Petronas.

UMNO is the best party to the Malay Peninsula?

I am sad out of the party that continues to lead the struggle to defend the religion, race and nation as UMNO. I really respect the principles of UMNO to defend the Malays. But for Umno to defend and fight for the rights of the Bajau, Kadazan, Murut, Ubian, Brunei, The River, Kadayan, Bisaya, Tatana, and other indigenous people of Sabah, perhaps not until the time!
