After the acquittal verdict, Camelot

After the acquittal verdict, Camelot
Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim was acquitted on Monday, to the relief of all right-thinking citizens of Malaysia. The dark clouds were vanquished and blue skies and sunshine bathed the streets of Kuala Lumpur.
We could now look to a future of more civil discourse in politics. The spectre of extra-electoral political change, looming in the Malaysian background since the start of the Mideast revolts, evaporated like mist in the morning.
There is no question that Pakatan Rakyat, led by Anwar, will win the next election. And then we will have a new order in Malaysia. Corruption will be eliminated and waste conquered. The politicians and big businessmen who have for so long prospered dishonestly and at the expense of the common people will be prosecuted.
Institutions which have been infiltrated and corrupted into the BN’s pliant tools will be freed to take their rightful place as part of the checks and balances in a democratic system. The judiciary, the police, the Central Bank and all who today jump to the tune of their political masters before they can even whistle it.
A new era of unity, peace and prosperity
And we will have in Malaysia a new time of unity, peace and prosperity as we have never known under the yoke of the BN. For the BN preferred a land where they could rule by divide, setting one race against another. This despicable game they played for 50 years; until in 2008 the people came together and left the BN with a bloodied nose and in stunned disbelief.
The BN learned nothing from that, but continued playing the racial card through their proxies like Perkasa, Pekida and what-have-you. They have failed, and will lose yet more seats in this election, relegating them firmly to the opposition benches. They do not believe it still, preferring denial to the harshness of the new reality.
With Anwar as Prime Minister, the economy will be freed to reach its true potential while still accommodating the needs of the weakest of our citizens. Foreign confidence, and investment, will return to Malaysia, while domestic investment will increase.
The long suffering, and yet undeveloped states of Sabah, Sarawak and Kelantan will be helped to prosperity on par with the rest of Malaysia. No state need have infrastructure inferior to any other.
A fairy tale?
No, we will have our Camelot.

  1. Anwar's freedom is the only thing that matters to you guys. You have actually closed one eye on what the verdict really meant. Yes, Anwar was acquitted but it's only due to consensual act of sodomy. If you were to refer to the Bar Council statement; a consensual sexual act between two consenting adults is a crime that should not be brought to court, - Natural law (reference AIDC blog). The integrity of the DNA is questionable but you have Saiful's sworn court testimonial to rely on. Saiful, as the judge describe in the prosecution case, was a reliable witness. So the act actually takes place. Anwar did not rebut this claim as he did not give a sworn court testimony. So as a result it is an act of consensual sodomy.
