After weeks of silence, the Minister and director-general of the Health Ministry were forced to come out to make some statements about the 1Care scheme. What is curious is that even the deputy director of the National Health Financing unit, Dr Rozita Halina Hussein also came out to make a statement – to the effect that the 1Care scheme have to be made mandatory! Shouldn’t such an explosive claim be vetted by the Minister or DG especially when the Minister have maintained that discussion of 1Care is “premature” and that the proposal is merely an “upgrade” of the existing healthcare system?
Guess what? Dr Rozita is the sister of the Home Minister and cousin of the PM. Maybe that is the reason why she doesn’t have to get the green light from the Health Minister or DG to emphasised that the 1Care scheme have to be mandatory.
