‘Little India’s fountain is functioning well’

MRCB clarified that the elephant-inspired fountain in Brickfields is well maintained by them.
PETALING JAYA: A Malaysian conglomerate, Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (MRCB), dismissed claims that the signature landmark – an elephant inspired fountain – in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, is out of order.
Melissa Ananthraj, senior manager for Irah Communications said in a press statement that the fountain is “functioning well”.
Irah Communications handles corporate communications for MRCB.
“We wish to inform that the fountain sprinklers work on automatic timer mechanism that allows for energy conservation.
“It also undergoes regular scheduled maintenance ,” said Melissa.
Melissa was commenting on an article entitled “Brickfields crumbling – does BN care?”, published on FMT earlier today.
In the article, the writer Jeswan Kaur alleged that Little India’s signature landmark, the RM3-million elephant-inspired fountain, has been out of order for months.
The article also blamed the relevant authorities and MRCB for turning a cold shoulder over the much-needed repairs
Melissa said that the fountain is safeguarded by MRCB’s auxiliary police 24 hours a day.
