Hasan Ali firm on not appealing PAS sacking

Former Selangor PAS commissioner Hasan Ali today declared that he will not appeal his sacking from the party.

Four days before the appeal process expires, Hasan said his decision was because he was arbitrarily sacked.

He listed the following nine reasons for his decision:

1. The 'parasites' role in influencing his arbitrary sacking.

2. Not receive any letter asking him to rebut accusations against him.

NONE3. PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat had before his sacking on Dec 27 last year said the matter had been resolved.

4. PAS has strayed from its original struggle.

5. PAS' accommodative stance towards Pakatan Rakyat partners.

6. Being impeded from upholding Islam and Malay rights when serving in the Selangor government.
7.'Parasites' in PAS more interested in listening to DAP and PKR than their own party on state administrative matters.

8. Almost no space for Islam in Selangor as DAP, PKR and some state PAS 'parasites' blocked his efforts on the basis of human rights, freedom, right of choice and to capture Putrajaya.
9.  PAS 'parasites' viewed his efforts on behalf of Islam and the Malay community negatively but never engaged him. Instead, they chose to attack him through the media.
"Based on these factors, I have decided not to appeal my sacking and instead oppose it for its arbitrary nature - all based on the whim of the 'parasites' which have always wanted to remove me from the PAS leadership," he said at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur.

Four conditions if he were to return to PAS

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, through a statement on Jan 8, announced that the PAS central committee had sacked Hasan for activities that went against party policies.

Asked if Abdul Hadi's offer not to contest in the next general election was related to the 'parasites' he referred to, he replied: "I do not dare to speculate, but to my mind, there may be a possibility, but there is no evidence to prove it."

Describing Abdul Hadi as more than a friend whom he had brought to Damansara Utama mosque 35 years ago, Hasan said the former should continue leading the party.

Hasan said if he were to ever return to the party, four conditions must be met:

1. PAS should pull out of Pakatan Rakyat and return to its original struggle.

2. The ‘parasites' in PAS should be removed.

3. PAS must be led by the ulamas.

4. The culture of attacking among the leadership must cease.

"I'm not trying to be proud or arrogant by setting conditions. I'm only responding to your question (about returning to PAS)," he told the journalists gathered at his home.

Huge crowds at roadshow

Hasan brushed aside PAS' claim that its research showed his sacking has not affected the party, pointing to the large turnout at his recent roadshows in Bakri (Johor) and Bukit Gantang (Perak), which both attracted 8,000 people.
"If you were at Bakri last night, as soon as the ceramah was over, the stage could only fit 30 to 40 people, but it was slanting because everyone wanted to shake my hand and hug me," he said.
"Even the Bukit Gantang MP (Nizar Jamaluddin) would not be able to get 10 percent of the turnout."

Hasan said that even some PAS leaders had invited him to speak in their area.

"Do they just want to listen to me for the sake of it or are they planning to follow in my footsteps, I don't know," he said.
