Pak Samad: Ignore the Home minister

(Harakah Daily) -  Bersih 2.0 co-chairman A Samad Said said Malaysians should just ignore Home minister Hishamuddin Hussein’s allegation that there were parties who wanted casualties at the Bersih 3.0 rally last month.
“I am thinking, this should not be a concern,” said Pak Samad as quoted by news portal TV Selangor.

Hishamuddin and deputy inspector general of police Khalid Abu Bakar (above)have alleged that there were parties who wanted deaths during the rally, backing the claim with a video footage.

But according to Pak Samad (left), such an allegation is a norm.

"There is no need to respond, because the former inspector general of police has spoken, the former prime minister has spoken, now the Home minister. After this, there will be more who say (likewise),” chided the Malay literary icon.

The government recently appointed Genting deputy chairman and former inspector-general of police Hanif Omar to head an 'independent' panel to investigate the violence at the rally. Hanif's appointment comes despite his public condemnation of Bersih 3.0 as 'communist-inspired'.

Mat Sabu: Seek professional treatment

Meanwhile, PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu lashed out at Hishamuddin and Khalid, saying the duo were "talking nonsense".

Mat Sabu (below) recalled a statement by Khalid not long ago dismissing allegations of criminal breach of trust in the National Feedlot Corporation saga involving the family of Wanita UMNO head Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.

He also reminded of Hishamuddin's claim that the police's confiscation of cameras during the Bersih 3.0 rally was 'standard operating procedure'.

According to Mat Sabu, both statements were proof enough that the duo had no credibility.

“The minister is talking nonsense. It is good for him to seek professional treatment,” the Penang politician quipped in his trademark humour.
