All 831 AES cameras up within the next 18 months

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) plans to install a total of 831 Automated Enforcement System (AES)cameras in stages throughout the next 18 months, Bernama reports. The cameras will be installed in a set of identified locations.
JPJ deputy director Datuk Ismail Ahmad said 14 AES cameras have been installed at various hotspots or accident prone areas in the Klang Valley and Perak since September 23. The 14 locations are listed in ourearlier report.
“The hotspots were identified based on the high number of accidents or traffic offences at the areas after a study carried out by the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS), JPJ, Public Works Department and police,” he said.
You can read the FAQ released by JPJ for more information on AES.
