I am not like any of them that will deny the facts that there weakness , flaws and problems in Barisan Nasional because my stand is very simple. As bad as BN can be and if they need to be change then make sure they be changed by a real qualified entity that is proven to be way better than BN. If they are exactly like BN or almost the same that what changes are we really shouting for? This posting is nothing about corruption because there also list of corruption that I would like to share it our with the public about PR corruption after Mac 2008. )

His central thesis is – if the Pakatan Rakyat takes over, we will lose all our personal liberties.

Myth 1: That PAS can impose an Islamic-style state on the WHOLE of Malaysia.
Fact 1: Kelantan and Kedah are overwhelmingly Muslim-populated states (90 over %). There, the PAS can have greater say.
Fact 2: In the whole of MALAYSIA, the Muslims form about 60% of the population, but they are unevenly distributed. In Sabah and Sarawak (with huge numbers of MPs), Christians form a LARGE majority.
Fact 3: In states like Penang and Selangor, the non-Muslim populations are quite substantial minorities too, up close to 50 %. So too in major states like Perak.
Fact 4: Not all Muslims want an Islamic-style state. In the urban-educated areas of the town and city dwellers, a lot of Muslims enjoy a quite liberal lifestyle.

Myth 2: The Barisan Nasional Government will preserve personal liberities.
Fact 1: It was a Barisan-sponsored bill which introduced the s114A amendment to the Evidence Act that puts the onus of a commentator ot prove his innocence in any libel/slander. This goes against the golden rule in evidence that it is for the prosecutor to prove innocence and not the defendant to prove innocence.
Fact 2: The Peaceful Assembly Act that was recently introduced imposes a lot of conditions to assemble peacefully, violating one of Malaysians’ constitutional right to freely assembly as they wish.
Fact 3: The Barisan Nasional government has used the laws (the former ISA, the Sedition Act, the Official Secrets Act, the Printing Presses and Publications Act etc.) to SUPPRESS freedom of speech, evidence of widespread corruption amongst its ranks and to keep the general Malaysian public ignorant and fearful of speaking up.

Look at the hansard – http://www.parlimen.gov.my/files/hindex/pdf/DR-18042012.pdf. When this issue was being debated list of Pakatan Rakyat MP keep bringing out all types of jokes and nonsense during the debate and most of it are not even related to Section 114a. Most importantly both Tan Seng Giaw and Gobind Singh even claim that they actually supported Section 114a during the parliamentary debate. Also not even a single person from Pakatan Rakyat called for a block voting when this issue was being debated in parliament. Pakatan Rakyat only know how to blame and make a big political issue out of it after the law is being pass through easily in less than a day in Parliament . Printing Presses act had been liberated and ISA had been abolished while Pakatan Rakyat had start to introduce gag order after that to restrict their own party member and leaders from speaking )

Bloke misses an important point – PAS has the right to free expression, and that was what their Youth Chief did, expressing the PAS’ posiiton on bikini modelling. Doesn’t mean DAP supports him or need to publicly object to that at every drop of the hat.

Now I, and I believe many DAP/PKR/UMNO/BN people too, wish to see models in bikini (my free expression)

There has been an unfortunate line of thought among both sides of the political fence to suppress people with different views, while proclaiming theuir democratic credentials. Maybe it’s time to re-emphasize on Voltaire’s saying.

They also fail to realize there is a deep ‘cleavage’ (pun is deliberate wakakaka) between PAS objecting to bikini modelling and the non-PAS people like DAP agreeing or acceding to their wish. As a Pakatan supporter I would just advise PAS not to attend/see the modelling show.

( Whenever MCA/MIC/GERAKAN failed to speak up against UMNO they claim that they are scared of UMNO and being UMNO dog and etc but when DAP silence against PAS although is against DAP views and stand then they claim it is right . Shen Yee Aun does have a point and like all of us, he needs his freedom also. Our assessment after reading his piece should be to decide what we want. Remove UMNOBN from forming the next government or prevent PAS from being part of the next government. No need to guess what GE14 will be after a UMNOBN win. What happens if PR wins is everybody’s guess. So why not give PAS the benefit of doubt, for I am sure; there will be also “fair minded individuals” in PAS, who will be leading the government.

( This is the most famous campaign launch by PR supporters now. Give them 1 term. I thought PAS had rule Kelantan for many terms? Even after Mac 2008 PR had rule over 4 states and yet all this full of problems that we ordinary Malaysian are facing is still happening. Look at how they screw up the entire Kedah ? Perhaps some Pas laws are extreme, but with a crime rate like Malaysia’s … it could use a little more extreme … … Anyone can come defend with statistics… but … car theft in the Lot 10 parking lot in Bukit Bintang? Attempted Kidnap/Rape at Mutiara Damansara, the Curve?
