SHAH ALAM,-- Court proceedings at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Courts Complex here were disrupted for up to three hours from about 8.30 am today following a bomb hoax.
More than 300 court staff and members of the public, ordered out of the complex, waited at the car park as a police bomb squad and a dog unit scoured the premises and found no bomb.
Shah Alam Police deputy chief Supt Mazlan Othman said a court staff summoned the police at 8.25 am after a man had called a telephone operator and threatened to set off bombs at the complex at 9 am, 10 am and 11 am.
"Our investigation showed that the call was a hoax. We have yet to establish whether the call was made from a mobile or public telephone and from where it was made," he told reporters.
Mazlan said that during the police operation, all the accused persons of the cases for mention and trial were kept at the lockup at the Shah Alam Police headquarters.
