KUALA LUMPUR- Former prime minister Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohamad said the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has once again proven to be a weak coalition due to their sheer fickle-mindedness.
"They have not even formed the government.
"Yet, they cannot even agree on the simplest matters within their coalition."
Dr Mahathir was referring to the suggestions made by Pas delegates at its' general assembly to appoint Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang as the next Prime Minister if the Opposition won the next general election.
"Now we hear Abdul Hadi has accepted the suggestion with open arms, but on another side, Karpal Singh has shot this suggestion down."
The DAP national chairman was recently quoted to be surprised over Abdul Hadi's remarks, stating that it had always been a consensus among the leaders of PR, including Pas, to appoint Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the next Prime Minister.
Addressing reporters at the 'Malaysians Condemn the Unjust War in Gaza' event today, Dr Mahathir said Karpal's answers were a mere tactic to woo in Malay voters to support DAP.
"He (Karpal) just wants the Malay people to believe in DAP and that is why he is fishing for their votes by placing Anwar as the next premier," he said.
