KUALA LUMPUR - The third meeting of the fifth term of the 12th Parliament, which is scheduled to end on Nov 27, has been extended by two days.
The extension of the sitting to Nov 29 is to enable several bills and other government matters to be finalised.
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia, when announcing the matter, said the extension was made under Standing Order 11(2).
According to the Standing Order, the Head or the Deputy Head of the House could amend the dates already stipulated from time to time.
The current sitting is in the midst of debating the Supply Bill 2013 at the committee stage for all ministries. The third meeting of the fifth term, which was previously scheduled to last for 34 days up to Nov 27, was earlier speculated to be the last sitting before the 13th general election is held.
