PKR central leadership council member Badrulamin Bahron will be charged together with 16 others by the Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) on Dec 20 following his arrest at a concert organised by former followers of the deviant movement Al-Arqam.
According to Malay daily Sinar Harian, Jais director Marzuki Hussin said that group will be charged in the Kuang Syariah Court with violating the Selangor mufti’s fatwa under Section 12(c) of Selangor Syariah Criminal Enactment 1995 for attempting to revive the banned movement.
“Before this, they were detained for two days straight as part of investigations by Jais enforcement officers. Their statements were also recorded on the same day of arrest, before they were brought to the Kuang Syariah Court for the case’s first mention and were released on a RM1,000 bail with one surety,” Marzuki added.

However, the former communications director with the Selangor Menteri Besar's office argued that he had done nothing wrong by attending the gathering.
