Premiership talk premature, says Muslimat wing

The PAS Muslimat wing has urged party leaders to concentrate on winning seats and not be distracted by talk of being the prime minister or being the core of Pakatan Rakyat.

During the winding-up speech at the 58th PAS muktamar in Kota Baru today, the wing's information chief Aiman Athirah Al-Jundiaiman said the party must first prove its worth before seeking a dominating position.

"The most important thing is if we want to capture Putrajaya it is through hard work and not just words.

"Do not insist that we be the leader (prime minister) or to become the core in Pakatan," said Aiman Athirah, in making the wing's closing statements.

The wing appear to be addressing the ulama wing which had yesterday nominated party president Abdul Hadi Awang as Pakatan's prime ministerial candidate.

Aiman Athirah said that should PAS really want Abdul Hadi to be the country's seventh prime minister, the party must first win all 60 Parliamentary seats it will be contesting in.

"Only then are we worthy to be the leader," she said.
