Bukit Raja land worth RM400mil, claims Deepak

Controversial carpet trader Deepak Jaikishan today claimed that the Bukit Raja land that Boustead Holdings Bhd plans to buy for RM160 million is worth RM400 million, adding that he is willing to re-acquire the land as he can make a quick buck from its later sale.

"I am willing to buy back the company and the land. They paid RM160 million... the land is worth RM400 million," said Deepak at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

He said that he would be willing to do so as he can re-sell the land for an estimated RM400 million as per the market price for land in the area.

"If I put the land on the market for RM350 million, I would be able to sell it. And I take everyone for a long holiday to Maldives.

“I just want to make sure the Selangor government can give me the title to the land."
He stressed that he only wants to recover his RM30 million investment in the deal and make some profit and not prolong the matter or let it be used as a political polemic.

Deepak also admitted that had not Selangor Wanita Umno chief Raja Ropiaah “cheated” him in the land deal, he would not have continued on his series of exposures.

However, now that he had started his “first step”, he is determined to persist as Malaysians “deserve to know the truth”.

“This is for the good of the nation.”

He also reiterated that his “crusade for truth” is without colour and he is beholden to no one.

Deepak also denied rumours that an Umno faction is behind his expose but announced that he is working closely with PAS and DAP in his future revelations. However, he is shunning PKR as he is not happy with its director of strategy Rafizi Ramli.
