KOTA BARU, Jan 21 – The seven major projects announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak during his visit to Kelantan yesterday, was clear proof that the central government has never neglected the state, said Kelantan Umno Liaison Committee chairman, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.
Mustapa, who is International Trade and Industry Minister, said the seven projects which would be part of Barisan Nasional’s (BN) 13th General Election manifesto, showed that the Prime Minister truly cared about the well being of the Kelantan people, who lagged behind in various aspects of development.
“This is also the best answer to the lies and criticisms claiming BN was discriminating against Kelantan,” he said after visiting Bernama photographer, Zahari Abdul Razak, who was warded at the Perdana Specialist Hospital, here last night.
Zahari had complained of abdominal and back pains after covering Najib’s one-day working visit to Kelantan yesterday.
The projects are a highway from Kuala Krai to Kota Baharu, a new stadium, construction of the biggest mosque in the state and a people’s housing project starting with 3,000 houses.
The others are, introducing the Rapid Kota Baharu public transport system, a 5,000-student capacity urban branch campus of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and a project to resolve the state’s water supply woes.  – Bernama
