Newsletters tarring Selangor gov't appear in Sekinchan

A publication slandering the Pakatan Rakyat Selangor state government was distributed to the seven chiefs of the Malay villages at Sekinchan two weeks ago.

NONEThe newsletter called Sinar Selangor, was sent to in an envelope with each village head receiving five different editions.

According to DAP Sekinchan assemblyperson Ng Suee Lim, each copy comprised eight full colour pages in A4 size paper.

He said that the DAP's two Malay Sabak district councilors also received the newsletters totally devoted to vilifying the Pakatan state government.

These include an article quoting the state Sultan statement criticising PKR's Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah's remark that religious freedom was for all, including Malays.
Others touched on water supply issues and on the Talam Corporation controversy.

Ng also said that they also cited news reports from online news portal AntaraPos, but with the story title and some of parts amended.

NONEThe copies do not carry details of the publisher, printer and or a contact address.

Ng said he suspected Umno was behind the move as it has the money and resources, lacking in other pro-BN forces.

He described the whole affair an underhand way of assailing political opponents.

"I hereby challenge Umno. If they want to argue politics and attack Pakatan, absolutely no problem. We can debate, but please don't use this kind of anonymous publications," he said.

Ng added that all the Malay village chiefs had lodged a police report yesterday and he urged the authorities to investigate those behindSinar Selangor and its relationship with AntaraPos.
