SEMENYIH: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has promised to resolve Selangor's water woes if Barisan Nasional is given the mandate to take back the state from Pakatan Rakyat.
“Selangor has many problems right now including the water problem.
“I feel so sad to see people, especially the older folk, having to struggle and carry buckets of water to their flats. Some even have to carry it to the 10th floor.
“Water is a fundamental right of any human being. We must resolve the basic needs of the people. This is not a political game but about the survival of the people.

“What we are seeing now is just a little of what will happen in 2014, especially in KL, Selangor and Putrajaya if nothing is done to solve the water problem,” he said during the Indian Progressive Front's (IPF) Mesra Bersama Perdana Menteri gathering at Dataran Tesco here on Saturday.
Najib urged the people not to be fooled by half-truths and empty promises.
“Do not be deceived again by their empty promises. They have made promises that have yet to be fulfilled.
“But Barisan is a responsible government. We will not promise what we cannot do,” he added.
Najib also told the people that the Government recognised the contribution of Indians and would continue to do what it could to improve the community's social and economic status.
“I pledge to double our efforts to help the Indian community and all Malaysians.
“But we need a strong and huge mandate for Barisan so that we can continue to make big improvements for the people,” he said.
In his speech, IPF president M. Sambanthan pledged the party's unwavering support for Barisan Nasional in the upcoming general election.
“We will give our full support to all Barisan candidates regardless of who they are,” he added.- Star
