SEX VCDS & LEAFLETS: PKR Youth slams Umno's smear campaign to regain S'gor

SEX VCDS & LEAFLETS: PKR Youth slams Umno's smear campaign to regain S'gor
Selangor PKR Youth leaders accused arch rivals Umno of masterminding an expensive smear campaign, challenging Prime Minister Najib Razak to openly debate Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim instead of resorting to "lies" and "fitnah" to win back the state.
Showing a sheath of 'risalah' (leaflets'), booklets, expensively-printed newsletters and a sex VDC, Selangor PKR Youth chief Azmizam Zaman Huri warned Umno leaders to "stop it now".
"Have the guts to debate Anwar on televised live national TV. Don't use dirty tactics like these to 'fitnah' (defame) Anwar and other Pakatan Rakyat leaders. Why is Najib so scared when Umno-BN controls all the TV channels, the newspapers? Why can't he just settle the score with Anwar in a public debate if he thinks Anwar is not credible?" Azmizam told a press conference on Monday.
Among the leaflets and booklets he showed to reporters included the latest, which he said was sent out just a day ago, entitled Anwar Ibrahim - the Zionist Agent.
"These have been circulating for the past few months. We got hold of the latest yesterday and guess what, Najib is going to visit Gaza soon. What type of coincidence is this?" said Azmizam.
Targeting Malay households: Who's footing the hefty bill?
His colleague Najwan Halmimi, the state PKR information chief, revealed that the material had been posted to mostly Malay households in Selangor, a state that Najib has vowed to wrest back from Anwar's Pakatan Rakyat coalition "at all costs".
"This is no small thing. It is a concerted effort and is costing someone somewhere a huge sum of money. We hope Umno is not using taxpayers' money for this. Many of the households told us they received not one but two or three copies of each type of leaflet. Big money is involved," Najiwan told Malaysia Chronicle at the sidelines of the press conference,.
Najwan also questioned why Pos Malaysia agreed to post the material for only RM1 in stamp costs. "Surely for a booklet as thick as this, it would cost more," he said.
The group later burned the leaflets, booklets in a small ceremony to symbolize their protest against Umno's alleged underhanded tactics.
"This is just to show that we mean business. Stop this nonsense, don't waste the people's money. If Najib has any problems with Anwar, have it out in a national debate. Don't be a chicken," said Najwan.
