KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 18 – It is not right for the opposition to politicise corruption and blame it on the government, said former vice chairman Transparency International Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim.
The former DAP vice-chairman suggested that the opposition should instead assist the government with solutions to combat it.
“Corruption should never become a ‘political football’. You don’t kick it around.
“It’s a national problem. I think we should work together to solve this problem,” he told reporters at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Training Academy, here today.
Tunku Abdul Aziz was earlier presented with a letter of appointment to MACC’s advisory board by Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah at Istana Negara, here.
Tunku Abdul Aziz, who was made a senator in July 2009, insisted that corruption was everyone’s fight and it was a war in which every Malaysian is involved.
“I don’t think it’s right to keep blaming the government saying they’re a part of the problem,” he said. – Bernama
