MUAR- Umno Youth deputy chief Datuk Razali Ibrahim today dismissed the notion by the opposition that voting trend in the upcoming 13th general election will be more race-based.
In fact, he said opposition parties, such as the DAP in particular, was more race-based compared to Barisan Nasional (BN).
"This can be seen as DAP is so confident of obtaining support from Chinese voters. If they are a multi-racial party why didn't they speak about the votes of Malays and Indians as well as other ethnic groups in Malaysia.
"BN is multi-racial while DAP is a race-based party," he told a news conference after holding a Muar parliamentary constituency Chinese New Year open house in Parit Jawa here.
Razali, who is also Youth and Sports Deputy Minister, said although there were Malays and Indians in the DAP it does not necessarily represent a multi-racial party.
