You called me an overlord and I said you are too naïve. Johor has recently been turned from a Pakatan Rakyat's frontline state into a chaos before the battle. The BN, of course, is waiting to enjoy the boon. As for the Pakatan Rakyat, in addition to embarrassing, the infighting has also messed up its footsteps. Meanwhile, the people can just sigh and say that it is a taboo to have chaos before the war and hope the involved parties can take a step back for a greater future.
Regardless of how great the reactions and how arrogant the attitude, the most concerned questions are:
Is the accusation of Johor DAP Chairman Dr Boo Cheng Hau made against Johor PKR Chairman Datuk Chui Jui Meng true?
How are central leaders of the three Pakaktan Rakyat component parties going to resolve the crisis?
Would the infighting in Johor cause a chain of reactions and affect the Pakatan Rakyat's plan to take over Putrajaya?
Rome was not built in a day. It has long been an open secret that Boo and Chua are not getting along well. Boo has repeatedly revealed his dissatisfaction about Chua while supporters of Chua have repeatedly launched attacks against Boo.
According to Boo, since Chua took over as the state PKR chairman, Johor DAP has continuously been attacked by unknown forces and PKR members. Boo accused Chua of being the black hand behind some discrediting remarks and trying to gradually split the Johor Pakatan Rakyat.
As outsiders, we do not know whether the serious accusations are made out of personal impulse and emotions or have they been tacitly approved by the party's central leaders to force the PKR out from the seat allocation battle. If it is made out of personal impulse, discipline actions might be taken against Boo. If the remarks have been tacitly approved in advance, the Pakatan Rakyat's infighting might then further intensify.
As we all know, the Pakatan Rakyat has classified Johor as a frontline state. But objectively speaking, Johor is a BN's bastion and it is in fact one of the greatest obstacles for the Pakatan Rakyat to take over Putrajaya. If we compare the strength of the three Pakatan Rakyat component parties in Johor, the PKR is undoubtedly the weakest. The DAP has one parliamentary seat and four state seats in Johor, PAS has two state seats while the PKR has nothing. Personal interests have now led to the seat allocation battle among the three parties and the PKR is eager to make a breakthrough in the next general election to build its political bridgehead in Johor. However, the ambition has also planted the fuse of the infighting.
Some voters might find it hard to accept the outbreak of infighting in the counting period of the general election. However, they are also aware through the infighting that there are indeed many grey areas in political reality. There is no eternal friendship, but only eternal interests, in politics. Moreover, the Pakatan Rakyat is comparatively a loose political coalition with component parties of different ideologies. They combined forces just to achieve the goal of defeating their common enemy, the BN.
The most important thing now is, how would the central leaders of DAP and PKR clean up the mess so that the parties can at least maintain harmony on the surface to face the general election, and prevent the BN from enjoying the boon. It is because, the interests of the two parties in breaking the BN's dominance in Johor are at least still the same!
