Jawi website defaced
The Federal Territory Islamic Affairs Department's (Jawi) website was hacked last night, likely due to political motivations.
The hacker, who signed off as Sofea Hana, replaced the website with a a hadith (sayings of Prophet Muhammad) recorded by persian Islamic scholar Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj, better known is Imam Muslim.
“Allah does not take away knowledge in an instant from the people but He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars, so that when He leaves no learned person.
“People then choose the ignorant as their leaders, so when the ignorant leaders are asked, they would deliver religious edicts (fatwa) without knowledge.
“They are astray and lead others astray,” read the quote on the defaced website, which was restored at about 9am.
The defaced website also carried a video of a sermon on the same issue on Youtube, delivered by Azhar Idrus, an acclaimed entertainer turned popular Muslim scholar.
Just last week, two PKR leaders Rafizi Ramli and Azmin Ali had also complained that their website was hacked.
Rafizi ended up with a fake apology to Defence Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on his Facebook page, while Azmin’s website was defaced with a warning that it is vulnerable to worse cyberattacks.
