A Malaysian Bar member today led a small group of protestors against tomorrow’s Bar Council workshop over the invitation of a PKR leader to speak at the event.
Lawyer Mohd Khairul Azam Abdul Aziz was protesting the presence of PKR deputy secretary-general Steven Choong in the workshop on the guidelines and process for preparing an election petition.
He argued that such a move violated the “role, function and authority of the Bar Council as stated clearly in Section 57 of the Legal Profession Act 1976.”
