Najib's integrity pledge an exercise in futility

VOXPOP 'Even a 10-year-old can sign a piece of paper, but what does it really mean? Is Najib sincere? No way in hell.'

Ambiga: We will hold Najib to his integrity pledge

vox populi small thumbnailDisgusted: The rakyat are not buying the signing of pledge by Prime Minister Najib Razak. He has lied so many times before that no one really trusts him or BN. He has no conscience at all. A desperate man can resort to desperate measures.

Passing Cloud: If even the ministers in PM Najib's handpicked cabinet present at the signing ceremony did not sign the pledge, it only means, like those absent, they won't be honouring the four-point pledge.

Everyone knows they have been breaking them to the hilt. Najib, the naked emperor, is doing this alone again. The signing of the pledge is just an exercise in futility.

Heavywater: Any of you believe in Najib and this ‘wayang kulit' act? It is just play acting. Even a 10-year-old can sign a piece of paper, but what does it really mean? Is Najib sincere? No way in hell.

Please remember Najib swore on the Holy Book for something he claimed he did not do. He is trying to fool us again.

Pputeh: You don't have to sign an integrity pledge but can still be honest and honourable. What's the use of signing it when the next day you play politics?

Yesterday you met the Pope but when you are back, you 'hantam' (disparage) the Christians. This is called integrity and honesty?

Fairplayer: Politicians are mostly after power, money and glory. Few have the people at heart. The fact that only four out of 222 MPs signed "the initiative, started last year by TI-Malaysia" speaks volumes.

Anonymous #49297474: Given that most of government machinery is manipulated by BN, I fear that this pledge does not carry any weight.

Changes in BN cannot happen overnight. To help BN change for better, BN need to become the opposition for a few terms.

Let it experience how is it like to be without the authority, and learn to serve the public interest from the heart, not for money and power. I think that's the best way.

Superwoman6: The four-faced Buddha keeps his image intact from all four corners, but this man changes his face with each corner he takes.

Mahadead: Najib and integrity are like water and petrol - they do not mix. - Malaysiakini
