'These people must quit, not become hypocrite' - Negri MB

'These people must quit, not become hypocrite' - Negri MB
SEREMBAN - Civil servants who disagree with government policies should be brave enough to quit said Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan today.
“These people must quit and not become hypocrite. Do not sabotage the government aid and benefits just because of your hatred,” said Mohamad after a function to honour civil servants at Wisma Negeri here today.
Mohamad also criticised former top civil servants who retired and later attacked the government.
“There are some former director of government agencies who upon their retirement join the opposition and start criticising the government.
“This is wrong as they were previously part of the government and they had served in the civil service, how can they criticise their own service. What they are doing is like spitting into the sky and have the saliva fall on their face,” said Mohamad.
Instead, Mohamad said retired civil servants should continue serving the people through volunteer community works and use their management skills to become village chief or rukun tetangga head.
Mohamad added that civil servants are also ambassador for the government and should help dispel lies and allegations thrown against the government.
“The retired civil servants should correcting all such lies and allegation because they were also once part of the government.”
Meanwhile in Kuala Terengganu, Bernama reports that the state Education Director Zakaria Husin reminded teachers who wanted to be active in politics to ensure that their focus is not distracted while teaching in class.
He said the Terengganu Education Department had never prevented any teacher from resigning to enter politics.
However, he said, generally there were not many teachers in Terengganu who were keen to be active in politics and even those who indulged in politics were only holding normal positions at the branch level.
“To date, the JPNT received less than 10 applications from teachers asking for permission to hold positions in political parties,” he told reporters here yesterday.
