KUALA LUMPUR -- Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng intends to embarrass Datuk Seri Najib Razak by calling on the people to wear red, green and yellow coloured clothes to attend the state Barisan Nasional's Chinese New Year Open House as the prime minister will be there, said political analysts.
University of Malaya Academy of Malay Studies director Prof Datuk Zainal Abidin Borhan said Guan Eng wanted to prove his point that the people of Penang were still supposedly behind the opposition.
Questioning the DAP-lead state government's sincerity in giving permission to the Barisan Nasional (BN) to hold the celebration, he said it was clear that it intended to tarnish the celebration.
"It is an act of a novice in politics," he said when contacted.
He was commenting on Guan Eng's call to those attending the celebration atSekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Han Chiang on Monday to dress in colours related to several causes like the Bersih's yellow colour.
